The Center for Medieval studies

The Center for Medieval studies is a part of the Institute of Humanities at the University of Iceland.

Miðaldastofa is a forum for research in medieval studies and for interdisciplinary collaboration and projects concerning issues and dissemination of medieval studies.

Saga Geopark

Saga Geopark

SAGA Geopark is a member of an international project called Drifting Apart, thogher with Geoparks in Ireland, Northern Ireland, Norway, Scotland, Russia and Canada, as well as the other two Icelandic Geoparks, Reykjanes Geopark – Iceland and Katla Geopark – Iceland.

The aim of the project is the strengthening and development of Geoparks in connection with sustainable tourism, the strengthening of research and educational material on Geoparks geology. The first meeting of the project board was held in Northern Ireland and ended with a conference in Reykjanes 2018.  The project is funded by a grant from the European Union’s NPA Arctic Program.
